Open Heavens 2012-14 December-ABOUT THE THRONE

Pst. E.A. Adeboye 14 December

ABOUT THE THRONE

Memorise: And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. Revelation 4:2

Read: Revelation 4:2-4

In Revelation 4:1, John the Beloved was invited to come and see certain future events. You will observe that up to chapter 3, a lot was said to the churches, but from chapter 4 -14, nothing was heard about the church; all that is recorded is about the tribulation on earth. This is another proof that the church will not be on earth during the Great Tribulation. Similarly, you will-observe that in Revelation 1-3, the phrase:

... he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches
ended each of the letters the Lord wrote to the churches. But in Revelation 13:9 where this phrase is used again, it says:

If any man have an ear, let him hear.

There was no mention of the word 'church' because somewhere at the end of Revelation 3, just as the door was opening in Heaven, the church was taken away to be with the Lord. Do everything possible to go with the Lord!

Moreover, John says he was in the spirit before he began to see glorious sights of Heaven (Revelation 4:3). We cannot take our mortal bodies into Heaven unless they are transformed into spirits. Even today, you have to be in the spirit in order to see the things in Heaven. What did John see? He saw a heavenly throne. God has a throne no doubt and Isaiah confirms this when he saw the Lord sitting on a throne (Isaiah 6:1). In an attempt to describe the throne, John was short of the right words to do the job. All he could do was to describe the glory of God which looked like jasper-pure bright and glorious without any blemish. This stands for the unbearable radiance of the holiness of God. He also says it looked like sardine stone which is a deep colour, which could be referring to the Blood of Jesus. Around the throne, he saw a rainbow with the colour of emerald. Emerald is green and green stands for power, productivity, and mercy which refer to the Holy Spirit. We also see 24 elders sitting on 24 seats. God is flanked by a group of people called elders which together forms the Supreme Council of God. No wonder God speaks in the plural sense many times. There is a lot of argument on who these elders are - whether they are 12 patriarchs and 12 apostles or 12 are Jews and 12 representing the church, we will know the true position of things when we get to Heaven. Is there anything you are doing, saying or planning now that can stop you from getting there? Deal with it today!

PRAYER POINT
Anything in my life that can truncate my heavenly trip, Father, root it out today and put me on the right track to Heaven.
